Maintenance Technician II

Dal-Tile is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician II to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our manufacturing equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform complex mechanical duties and electrical trade functions in the installation, maintenance, repair, and distribution of electrical energy.
  • Install, maintain, and replace electronic programmable controllers in a manufacturing environment.
  • Troubleshoot PLCs using handheld devices or laptops.
  • Design and redesign programs and software for PLCs, operator panels, and other equipment.
  • Format hard drives and install them to computers and PC applications.
  • Locate and diagnose trouble in electrical systems or equipment using blueprints, drawings, layouts, or other specifications.
  • Work with standard computations related to load requirements of wiring and/or electrical equipment.
  • Have basic knowledge of serial port communication systems, VFDs, and process control instrumentation devices.
  • Continuously review your area for ideas and thoughts that will drive productivity and reduce costs within the organization.
  • Process improvement (plan and submit process improvements and execute the plan).
  • Use a variety of electrician's tools, including measuring and testing instruments.
  • Inform your supervisor of operational status and notify of any problem areas.
  • Keep your work area safe, clean, and organized.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of electrical code.
  • Formal PLC training preferred.
  • Associate degree in industrial electronics preferred.
  • 3 or more years of industrial electro-mechanical maintenance experience.
  • Basic computer knowledge (Microsoft Office).
Competencies:

Routinely working at a height that requires fall protection.

While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to stand, use hands, and reach with hands and arms. The associate is required to walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The associate may be required to sometimes sit, climb, or balance. The associate may lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The associate is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The associate may be exposed to a wide range of temperatures. The noise level is usually loud.
