Job Summary:

As a key member of the Dal-Tile team, the Maintenance Technician II will be responsible for performing complex mechanical duties and electrical trade functions in the installation, maintenance, repair, and distribution of electrical energy. This role requires a strong understanding of electrical systems, programmable logic controllers, and electronic programmable controllers.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Troubleshoot PLC's using hand-held devices or laptops.
  • Design and redesign programs and software for PLCs, operator panels, and other equipment.
  • Format hard drives and install them on computers, as well as set up PC applications.
  • Install, maintain, or repair equipment for the generation, distribution, or utilization of electrical energy in a manufacturing environment.
  • Locate and diagnose trouble in electrical systems or equipment, working from blueprints, drawings, layouts, or other specifications.
  • Perform standard computations related to load requirements of wiring and/or electrical equipment.
  • Have basic knowledge of serial port communication systems, VFDs, and process control instrumentation devices, such as thermocouples and pressure switches.
  • Have basic knowledge of servomotors and drive units.
  • Continuously review their respective area for ideas and thoughts that will drive productivity and reduce costs within the organization and be able to professionally speak to their solution for improvement.
  • Process improvement (plan and submit process improvements and execute the plan).
  • Use a variety of electrician's tools, including measuring and testing instruments.
  • Inform the supervisor of the operational status of equipment and notify them of any problem areas.
  • Keep the work area safe, clean, and organized.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of electrical code.
  • Formal PLC training preferred.
  • Associate degree in industrial electronics preferred.
  • 3 or more years of industrial electro-mechanical maintenance experience.
  • Basic computer knowledge (Microsoft Office).

Work Environment:

The associate will be regularly required to stand, use hands, and reach with hands and arms. They will be required to walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. They may be required to sometimes sit, climb, or balance. They may lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus. The associate will be regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. They will occasionally be exposed to fumes or airborne particles. They may be exposed to a wide range of temperatures. The noise level is usually loud.
