At Friends of the Earth, we are committed to creating a more just and sustainable world. Our Food and Agriculture program works to rapidly transition our food system to one that is regenerative, healthy, and equitable.

This position offers a unique opportunity to work with a dynamic team to advance regenerative organic and agroecological farming systems. As a member of our Food and Agriculture Team, you will gain valuable skills and experience in research, strategic campaign development, online and traditional media communications, corporate and non-profit engagement, and public outreach, education, and organizing on the cutting edge of environmental advocacy.

The estimated salary for this position is $25 per hour, with a total compensation package of approximately $65,000 over six months. This includes a $1,000 stipend distributed in two installments throughout the program.

Responsibilities include:

  • Writing and developing outreach materials and action guidelines to educate allies, opinion leaders, policymakers, the press, and the public about digital agriculture, AI, genetically modified agricultural inputs, and their impacts on our food system, social justice, and biodiversity.
  • Conducting research and analysis to develop factsheets, web content, and other campaign materials to educate allies, opinion leaders, policymakers, the press, and the public.
  • Supporting the implementation of strategic campaign plans and assisting in planning and coordinating virtual and in-person events, such as webinars, local actions, and public comments.
