Geriatric Care Assistant

Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant to join our team at Acadia Healthcare. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care and support to our residents, ensuring their comfort, dignity, and well-being.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Provide Personal Care: Assist patients with activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming, in a safe and respectful manner.
- Patient Observation and Rounding: Timely observe and round on patients to ensure their needs are met and to identify any potential concerns.
- Room Maintenance: Maintain patients' rooms to ensure they are clean, uncluttered, and comfortable.
- Transfer and Positioning: Assist with transferring and positioning patients to prevent falls and promote mobility.
- Vital Signs and Documentation: Obtain patients' vital signs, height, and weight as assigned, and ensure accurate documentation.
- Communication and Interactions: Engage with patients in activities and interactions designed to encourage achievement of treatment goals.
- CNA Duties: Perform related CNA duties, such as feeding, bathing, dressing, and grooming patients.
- Transfer and Transportation: Provide transfer or transportation for patients or coordinate with appropriate staff members as required.
- Policy Adherence: Adhere to established policies, procedures, and standards for patient care.
- Cleanliness and Organization: Clean the unit as assigned by professional staff, including equipment such as beds and wheelchairs.
- Team Collaboration: Collaborate with other staff members to work with the population of the facility to treat and rehabilitate patients.
- Professional Attitude: Demonstrate a positive, empathetic, and professional attitude towards customers always, recognizing that patient safety is a top priority.
- Effective Communication: Communicate clearly and effectively to patients, family members, guests, and other members of the healthcare team.
