This role is essential in supporting the mission of the Y, a prominent non-profit organization focused on fostering community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility.
The Music Educator will offer direct leadership, guidance, and encouragement to participants in music programs, ensuring a fulfilling experience for both students and their families.
Key Responsibilities:
- Creating comprehensive lesson plans
- Exhibiting sound technical and artistic principles
- Delivering a meaningful experience to students
- Tracking student progress
- Providing program information to students and their families
- You are dedicated to promoting diversity and fostering an inclusive environment.
- You possess 5 years of formal music training (preferred).
- You have 1-2 years of experience as a music instructor or teaching assistant.
- You can teach beginning and intermediate level music classes.
- You are enthusiastic about teaching music to individuals ranging from preschool to adult.
- You maintain a positive attitude and have experience working with diverse age groups and populations.
- You believe that the arts should be accessible to everyone, regardless of their artistic skills, experience, or financial situation.
- You are prepared to complete Child Abuse prevention training on your first day, along with any other required online and in-person training.
Work Schedule: Part-Time, Up to 25 hours per week.
