About the Role:

The Director of Music Performance at Birch Creek Music Performance Center is responsible for overseeing the organization's music programs, including performance-based music education for high school students and adults. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in leadership and a passion for music education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement music programs that align with the organization's mission and goals.
  • Lead a team of faculty and staff to deliver high-quality music education programs.
  • Manage the budget and resources to ensure the success of music programs.
  • Foster strong relationships with stakeholders, including board members, staff, faculty, funders, students, and families.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree in music, business, management, music education, or arts management.
  • A minimum of 10 years of executive leadership experience, preferably in nonprofit arts organizations.
  • Proven excellence in organizational management, with the ability to build and lead teams, set, and meet strategic objectives, and manage financial resources.
  • Success working with a Board of Trustees and fostering strong relationships with board members.
  • Strong connections within the music community.
  • Strong marketing, public relations, and fundraising expertise, with a track record of engaging diverse stakeholders.
  • Administrative experience in human resources.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to connect and collaborate with a wide range of people.
  • Experience in and passion for music education, with a commitment to educational programs for both youth and adults.
