Job Summary
Description:

Collaborative Support Programs, a leading mental health nonprofit organization, is seeking a highly skilled Resource Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in assisting clients in identifying and accessing various financial, healthcare, educational, and other essential resources.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough assessments of clients' needs and provide personalized information and referrals to community resources, including clothing, food, shelter, rapid housing services, rental assistance, and general assistance.
  • Assist clients in completing various applications, such as food stamp, Medicaid, employment applications, medical discounts, and public assistance recertification paperwork.
  • Oversee the identification program to help clients obtain essential identification documents, including birth certificates, social security cards, marriage licenses, and more.
  • Stay up-to-date with community resources and maintain a comprehensive knowledge of available services.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent with at least 1 year of related experience or a Bachelor's degree in a mental health discipline
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with clients and community partners
  • Knowledge of community resources and ability to access them
  • Proficient in Excel, MS Office, and general computer literacy
  • Bilingual skills are a plus
  • Valid NJ driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Lived experience: Collaborative Support Programs prioritizes hiring individuals who have experienced mental health or substance use issues and can use their experiences to inspire and support others
