The University of Arizona College of Medicine is seeking a full-time, tenure-eligible Associate Professor specializing in musculoskeletal research within the Department of Orthopedic Surgery.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop a robust, impactful research program aimed at securing external funding.
- Demonstrate expertise in animal model injuries or disorders, particularly in muscle, peripheral nerve, bone, skin, and intestinal areas.
- Conduct musculoskeletal imaging, functional assessments, and cellular and molecular analyses under various conditions.
- Collaborate with national and international researchers and clinicians in the field of musculoskeletal science and translational research focusing on nerve disorders and clinical outcomes.
- Engage in outreach and collaborative efforts across the department, college, and university.
- Contribute significantly to establishing a nationally recognized musculoskeletal research program.
- Actively enhance trainee engagement and promote diversity through mentoring initiatives.
- Author and publish research articles, reviews, and book chapters.
- Report directly to the Chair of Orthopaedic Surgery.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- PhD in Veterinary Pharmacology & Toxicology and DVM in Veterinary Science & Animal Husbandry, or a related discipline.
- Proven experience in musculoskeletal research.
- Strong knowledge in areas related to nerve, skeletal muscle, bone, and intestinal injuries.
