Job Title

Principal-level Environmental/CEQA Planner

Job Summary

PlaceWorks is seeking a highly experienced and skilled Principal-level Environmental/CEQA Planner to lead our Environmental Team in our Berkeley office. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing CEQA and NEPA projects, preparing technically sound and legally defensible analyses and environmental impact assessment documentation, and mentoring and guiding junior staff members.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and oversee CEQA and NEPA projects from proposal writing to project completion
  • Prepare technically sound and legally defensible analyses and environmental impact assessment documentation
  • Mentor and guide junior staff members in project management and technical skills
  • Develop and implement project management plans, schedules, and budgets
  • Coordinate with clients, community-based organizations, government agencies, and other firms to ensure successful project outcomes
  • Represent PlaceWorks at job interviews, community workshops, and conferences
Requirements
  • Minimum 10 years of professional experience in CEQA and/or NEPA project management and analysis
  • Excellent technical writing and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Strong leadership and management skills to mentor and guide junior staff members
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint)
  • Current and valid driver's license, proof of automobile insurance, and acceptable MVR to drive on Company business
What We Offer

PlaceWorks offers a competitive salary range of $160,000 - $195,000 per year, dependent upon experience and other relevant factors.
