Role Summary:

The Head of Process Engineering will spearhead the establishment of the Process Engineering framework, standards, and methodologies across SFS. This individual will actively participate in process engineering initiatives across various functions within the organization, fostering a culture of process excellence. The director will also oversee a dedicated team of full-time and/or contract professionals engaged in process engineering projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive the development and enhancement of departmental and comprehensive process improvements.
  • Engage with business stakeholders and external partners to strategically implement process enhancements that yield efficiencies and improved performance metrics.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Originations Systems Development to track project progress, ensuring high-quality deliverables and successful production launches.
  • Conduct market analysis to identify industry-leading processes and organizational structures for continuous improvement.
  • Provide expert guidance to executive leadership on optimizing both departmental and cross-departmental processes.
  • Work alongside business partners and IT specialists to explore automation possibilities.
  • Address and resolve escalated project issues, including obstacles and modification requests related to process engineering initiatives.
  • Regularly communicate updates on project status, projections, challenges, and resource needs, emphasizing key achievements, metrics, risks, and contingency strategies.
  • Perform additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned.

Additional Duties: Oversee the daily activities and work schedules of assigned employees, providing guidance and support in alignment with company policies and procedures.

Qualifications and Skills: To excel in this role, candidates must demonstrate proficiency in the following areas:

  • Experience: A minimum of 10 years in the financial services sector, preferably within the automotive industry, along with at least 5 years in a managerial capacity overseeing a team of 5 or more.

Required Skills:

  • Comprehensive understanding of automotive finance, including processes, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Proficient in tools such as MS Office, Visio, Miro, or similar process mapping applications.
  • Demonstrated expertise in applying process engineering principles, including metrics-driven analysis and process KPIs.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity effectively.
  • Exceptional leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills, both written and verbal.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Education: A bachelor's degree in Project Management, Business/Information Technology, or a related discipline is preferred.

Travel Requirements: 10-20% travel may be necessary.
