Job Title: Senior Rail/Track Project Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Rail/Track Project Engineer to join our team at Colliers Engineering & Design. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for applying engineering fundamentals to support project design teams and ensuring the efficient delivery of rail and transit systems.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform engineering calculations and create estimates to support project design teams.
  • Research and apply code provisions to design rail and transit systems.
  • Create cost estimates for project alternatives and ensure compliance with company and client standards.
  • Perform QA/QC by verifying design methodology, calculations, outcomes, and ensuring designs are in accordance with company and client production and design standards.
  • Interpret drawings from multiple disciplines for specific projects and create 3D models.
  • Research design options and document findings for project managers.
  • Submit concept designs and work through approval processes such as permits from municipalities.
  • Work with senior engineers to create project designs and ensure timely delivery.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Civil Engineering.
  • 6+ years of experience in track design and railroad engineering.
  • Proficient in Microstation and OpenRoads.
  • Ability to create drawings from sketches and ensure designs are in accordance with company and client production and design standards.
  • Strong work ethic, excellent attention to detail, and eagerness to learn.
  • Team player and ability to work independently.
  • Ability to read, write, and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.
