Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Sterile Processing Technician to join our team at Doctors Hospital of Augusta. As a Sterile Processing Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and safety of surgical instruments and equipment used in our hospital.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process and maintain quality control of surgical instruments and equipment
  • Monitor sterilization/decontamination equipment used in Surgical Services
  • Clean and disinfect equipment and supplies used throughout the hospital
  • Provide hospital departments with sterile instruments and trays in accordance with departmental policies and procedures
  • Collect soiled equipment from nursing units and deliver to the decontamination area
  • Order supplies and instruments and pull cases as needed
  • Keep accurate and legible records
  • Transport patients as needed
  • Replenish carts as needed
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
  • Central Sterile Certification required in South Carolina hospitals and strongly preferred in Georgia and Florida hospitals
  • Prior sterilization and surgical instrumentation experience preferred
