Role Summary

In the role of Membrane Production Specialist, you will be responsible for operating advanced membrane coating machinery. This includes tasks such as chemical preparation, quality assurance, troubleshooting, and product packaging. Your commitment to quality workmanship and adherence to timelines will be crucial in meeting client expectations. The position involves working 12-hour shifts on a rotating schedule.

Key Responsibilities

As a Membrane Production Specialist, your duties will include:

  • Adhering to all Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) regulations, including maintaining cleanliness; participating in EHS meetings and audits.
  • Proactively identifying and addressing safety issues.
  • Setting up, operating, and maintaining membrane production equipment.
  • Handling and mixing chemicals according to established protocols, including strong acids and solvents.
  • Accurately entering production data into relevant databases and logs.
  • Transporting raw materials and finished products to designated areas.
  • Monitoring and documenting the quality of raw materials and final products, making necessary adjustments to ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Diagnosing and resolving equipment malfunctions to minimize waste.
  • Following all critical safety policies and procedures.
  • Managing hazardous waste in accordance with applicable regulations.
  • Assisting with bulk chemical unloading and testing as required.
  • Supporting inventory management and SAP transactions.
  • Conducting routine maintenance and calibration of equipment.
  • Preparing and packaging membrane samples.
  • Contributing to process improvements and new product initiatives.
  • Performing additional tasks as assigned by supervisors or team leads.
Qualifications

Required Skills and Experience:

  • At least 1 year of experience in machine operation, maintenance, chemical handling, or relevant military service -OR- a minimum of 6 months as a membrane operator.
  • Capability to lift and manage loads up to 50 lbs.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Willingness to work with various chemicals, including solvents and acids.
  • Availability for overtime work.
  • Readiness to perform preventative maintenance tasks.
  • Ability to work a rotating schedule that includes weekends.
  • Willingness to wear personal protective equipment as necessary.
  • Openness to training in forklift operations and safety procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate's Degree in engineering, industrial technology, or a related technical field.
  • Understanding of plumbing and fluid transfer fundamentals.
  • Experience with inventory management systems like SAP.
  • Familiarity with troubleshooting processes in manufacturing environments.
  • Proficiency in basic mathematical calculations relevant to production.
  • Experience with laboratory equipment and techniques.
  • Strong attention to detail in chemical handling.
  • Excellent communication skills and a willingness to learn.
