About the Position

The University of Arizona's Department of Surgery is seeking a highly accomplished and visionary leader to serve as the next Chief of the Division of Abdominal Transplant Surgery. As a key member of the department's leadership team, the successful candidate will be responsible for driving the growth and development of the division, advancing its clinical, research, and educational programs, and fostering a culture of excellence and innovation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic leadership and direction for the division, setting a clear vision and executing on it to drive growth and excellence.
  • Develop and implement plans to advance the division's clinical programs, research initiatives, and educational offerings.
  • Lead and manage a team of faculty and staff, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure their success and well-being.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including departmental leadership, hospital administrators, and community partners.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest developments and advancements in the field of transplant surgery, applying this knowledge to inform divisional strategy and decision-making.
Requirements
  • Hold a Professor or Associate Professor rank.
  • Have a strong academic background, with a national/international reputation as an accomplished clinician, investigator, and educator.
  • Bring a proven track record of leadership experience in an academic medical center, with a focus on building and leading high-performing teams.
  • Be eligible for medical licensure in Arizona.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in transplant surgery.
