Position Summary

The Maintenance Mechanic plays a crucial role in ensuring the optimal mechanical performance of plant machinery and equipment. This position involves diagnosing and rectifying electrical and electronic issues, performing necessary repairs, and conducting routine maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct maintenance and repairs on all electrical and mechanical systems within the production area.
  • Install electrical supply wiring and conduits for newly acquired machinery and equipment.
  • Execute mechanical tasks as directed by the supervisor.
  • Compile maintenance reports for management review as required.
  • Interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, process sheets, and assembly schematics.
  • Diagnose and test malfunctioning equipment, collaborating with other facility personnel to address issues.
  • Replace or repair defective electrical and mechanical components of machinery.
  • Calibrate and adjust all electrical and mechanical equipment in accordance with manufacturer specifications.
  • Maintain an adequate inventory of tools and electrical components for routine maintenance tasks.
  • Perform welding and fabrication as necessary.

Qualifications

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent, or completion of a technical program in a related field.
  • A minimum of 2 years of industrial experience in electrical or mechanical support roles.
  • Familiarity with OSHA safety standards, particularly those pertaining to electrical and mechanical operations.
  • Ability to read and comprehend electrical schematics and blueprints.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of three-phase 480-volt systems.
  • Proficient understanding of three-phase motors, programmable controls, circuits, and the National Electrical Code.

Physical Requirements

Candidates must possess the physical capability to:

  • Lift, push, or pull up to 80 lbs.
  • Engage in frequent climbing, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, stooping, and twisting.
  • Utilize tools and equipment for repairs while standing, crouching, or stretching in various work environments.
