Position Summary
The Clinical Nurse embodies the mission, vision, and values of Northwestern Memorial Healthcare, adhering to the organization's ethical standards and compliance protocols while following all relevant policies and regulatory requirements.
In alignment with the NMH framework for practice, the registered professional clinical nurse (RN) is accountable for delivering and coordinating clinically proficient, evidence-based care for a designated group of patients. This includes assessment, outcome identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care. The nurse adheres to the ANA Scope and Standards of Professional Nursing, the Code of Ethics, and the Nursing Social Policy Statement. As a collaborative member of the clinical care team, the RN engages in decision-making, education, mentoring, and teamwork with multidisciplinary professionals to enhance patient care, achieve outstanding outcomes, and improve unit operations.

Required:
- Graduate of an NLN accredited nursing program.
- Baccalaureate degree in Nursing or higher.
- Current Registered Professional Nurse license in the State of Illinois.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association.
- Analytical skills (conceptual and quantitative).
- Effective oral, listening, and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills for effective collaboration in challenging situations.
- Proficient in keyboarding for data entry and retrieval.
- Experience in a specific clinical area.
- Nursing specialty certification, if eligible.
