Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our Pre/Post-Op team at Feinberg. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in critical care nursing and experience in a PACU setting. As a Clinical Nurse Specialist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, collaborating with the interdisciplinary team, and contributing to the development of evidence-based practice.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct patient care to critically ill patients in the Pre/Post-Op unit
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans
  • Conduct thorough assessments and evaluations of patients to identify potential complications and develop strategies for prevention
  • Develop and implement education plans for patients and families to promote self-care and independence
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of evidence-based practice
Requirements:
  • Graduate of an NLN accredited school/college of nursing
  • Baccalaureate degree in Nursing or higher
  • Current State of Illinois, Registered Professional Nurse license
  • Current Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation recognition (healthcare provider level) through the American Heart Association
  • Current ACLS recognition through the American Heart Association
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in a PACU setting
  • Nursing specialty certification, if eligible
