Job Summary

Hanover Inn at Dartmouth College is seeking an experienced and dynamic leader to join our team as the Director of Food and Beverage Operations. As a key member of our hotel management team, you will be responsible for driving the success of our Food and Beverage Department and delivering exceptional guest experiences.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute marketing strategies to achieve sales and profitability goals for the Food and Beverage Department.
  • Prepare and manage the department's budget, ensuring effective resource allocation and cost control.
  • Lead and motivate a team of front and back of the house food and beverage management staff, providing coaching, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Participate in total hotel management as a member of the Hotel Executive Committee, contributing to strategic decision-making and goal-setting.
  • Implement and maintain F&B sales and marketing programs, ensuring alignment with hotel objectives and brand standards.
  • Direct the development of employees, including hiring, training, empowerment, coaching, and performance reviews.
  • Oversee the implementation of payroll, reports, forecasts, inventory, and budget for food and beverage operations.
  • Coordinate food and beverage operations with other hotel departments to ensure efficient guest service and seamless execution.
  • Resolve customer complaints and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction and quality.
  • Implement procedures to increase guest and associate satisfaction, exercising quality control for both food and beverage.
  • Maintain standards of service and ensure their implementation, performing daily walk-throughs to ensure compliance with Department of Health regulations and brand standards.
  • Maintain communications with Corporate Staff, coaching and counseling employees to reflect brand service standards and procedures.
Requirements
  • 6 years or more of progressive hotel Food and Beverage experience in a hotel or resort.
  • Service-oriented style with professional presentation skills.
  • Proven leadership skills.
  • Hotel/Hospitality degree an asset.
Preferred Qualifications
  • High energy, entrepreneurial spirit, motivational leader.
  • Proven track record in high-volume concept.
  • Effective communicator.
  • Ability to improve the bottom line.
  • Clear, concise written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and administrative skills.
  • Experience implementing new F&B concepts.
