Key Responsibilities- Assess and evaluate the performance of nursing staff to ensure continuity of care and report any concerns to management and administration.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care transitions and address any unusual occurrences or complaints.
- Develop and implement strategies to optimize patient safety and reduce the likelihood of medical/healthcare errors.
- Monitor and ensure accurate documentation of medical records, including documentation of medical necessity, and completion of Interdisciplinary Care Plans.
- Provide education and training to nursing staff on Functional Independent Measure (FIM) assessments and scoring.
- Enforce compliance with education/in-service requirements, orientation, and competencies within the nursing department.
- Review and evaluate risk and quality indicators, patient satisfaction results, and outcomes to identify areas for improvement and communicate findings to the nursing department.
- Graduate of an accredited registered nurse program with current licensure in the state.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support certification required.
- Minimum of two years of previous nursing management experience.
- Demonstrated ability to plan, coordinate, evaluate, and direct activities of clinical personnel.
- Effective oral and written communication skills in English, with additional languages preferred.
- Proficiency in basic computer skills required.
- Demonstrated problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
Central Texas Rehabilitation Hospital is a state-of-the-art, 50-bed inpatient acute rehabilitation hospital dedicated to maximizing the health, function, and quality of life of those we serve through comprehensive physical medicine and rehabilitation programs. Our rehabilitation programs provide ongoing care and specialized treatment to patients throughout their recovery journey, addressing conditions such as stroke, brain injury, neurological conditions, trauma, spinal cord injury, amputation, and orthopedic injury.
