Job Overview:
The Admissions Support Specialist plays a vital role in facilitating the needs of prospective students. This position is integral to the Student Support team, which is tasked with managing incoming applications for enrollment and ensuring that all necessary documentation is collected efficiently. Additionally, the team oversees the Admissions communication channels and engages in outreach efforts for any outstanding requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Admissions Counselor team to provide comprehensive case management for potential students.
- Engage with applicants through various communication methods, with a primary focus on telephone interactions.
- Receive training to develop a thorough understanding of Excelsior College’s offerings, policies, and services.
- Exhibit strong communication skills while addressing challenging situations in a professional manner.
- Participate in continuous training and professional development initiatives.
- Maintain proficiency in Excelsior College’s Student Information System (SIS), telephony systems, and Constituent Relationship Management (CRM) tools.
- Manage a high volume of outbound calls to ensure timely follow-up with new inquiries.
- Perform additional duties as required to support departmental objectives.
Qualifications:
- At least one year of experience in Admissions or a Communication Center is preferred.
- Ability to maintain a positive demeanor in a dynamic office environment while managing multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Capability to work independently and effectively collaborate with colleagues.
- Proficiency in assimilating extensive information regarding academic programs with accuracy.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team setting.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities are essential.
- Experience in higher education and a commitment to promoting distance learning to a diverse adult student demographic is desirable.
Education Requirements:
High School diploma or equivalent is required.
Experience:
Relevant experience in a similar role is advantageous.
Licenses & Certifications:
Relevant certifications may be beneficial.
