We are seeking a Permanent Fence Installation Helper who is committed to building a long-lasting career. Compensation is $26.00 per hour, commensurate with experience. This role involves assisting in the installation, removal, and repair of rental fence panels. Ideal candidates will exhibit reliability, integrity, and a strong work ethic.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare the installation site by clearing rocks, bushes, or other impediments from the designated fence path as necessary.
  • Identify and adhere to underground utility safety markings before commencing any digging activities.
  • Utilize equipment such as skid steers, jackhammers, core drills, or manual tools to dig postholes.
  • Position posts vertically within the excavated holes.
  • Mix and pour concrete around the bases of posts or compact soil to secure them in place.
  • Affix top and bottom rails to the fence posts or insert them into designated slots.
  • Stretch and attach wire, wire mesh, or chain link fencing between posts and secure them to frames.
  • Install fence rail supports to posts using hand tools.
  • Assist in the assembly and installation of gates, ensuring they are properly fastened.
  • Complete the upper sections of metal fences by connecting tube segments with metal sleeves.
  • Insert metal tubing through rail supports and attach rails or tension wire along the base of posts to create fencing frames.
  • Support the assembly of custom iron fence orders on-site using both hand and power tools.
  • Install privacy slats or panels as specified.
  • Manage the removal, loading, transportation, and disposal of old fencing materials as required.
  • Operate forklifts, scissor lifts, reach lifts, and skid steers for the loading and unloading of materials.
  • Conduct safety inspections and complete checklists for all equipment and tools prior to use.
  • Adhere to company and regulatory safety and health guidelines.

Required Skills:

  • Strong attention to detail
  • Proficiency with air, hand, and power tools
  • Ability to lift up to 100 lbs.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 1 year in heavy construction preferred
  • Prior experience in fencing is advantageous

A valid driver's license and a clean driving record are mandatory (no DUI/DWI). A comprehensive background check and drug screening will be conducted.
