About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Fence Construction Foreman to join our team at American Fence Company, Inc. in Salt Lake City, Utah. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for overseeing the installation of permanent fences, leading a crew of installers, and ensuring exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Verify project materials and tools before commencing work at the job site.
  • Make informed decisions on fence installation methods and terminations based on site boundaries.
  • Communicate effectively with customers to understand their fencing needs and specifications.
  • Prepare job sites for fence installation, removing obstacles as necessary.
  • Measure and lay out fence lines, marking posthole positions according to instructions.
  • Align posts, ensuring vertical accuracy using plumb bobs or spirit levels.
  • Locate and follow underground utility safety markings before digging.
  • Dig postholes using skid steer, dandy digger, or manual post hole diggers.
  • Set posts in upright positions and mix/concrete around bases.
  • Assemble and install custom ornamental iron fences and gates.
  • Attach fence rail supports to posts using hammers and pliers.
  • Complete administrative tasks, including collection of signatures and employee time sheets.
  • Remove, load, transport, and dispose of old fence materials as required.
  • Operate company vehicles and equipment, adhering to DOT regulations.
  • Inspect and complete safety checklists for equipment and machinery.
Requirements
  • 2 years of heavy construction experience.
  • 1 year of supervisory or foreman experience.
  • Prior fencing experience is preferred.
  • Ability to lift up to 100 lbs.
