Position Overview:

As a Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Cardiovascular care, you will be part of a leading healthcare institution renowned for its innovative research and advanced surgical procedures. Unit Description:

Our Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (ICU) is one of seven specialized units dedicated to managing complex cases, including heart and lung transplants, ECMO, LVAD, and various cardiac surgeries. This unit provides critical care for post-operative patients, ensuring they are stabilized and monitored closely.

Key Responsibilities:

- Deliver direct nursing care to critically ill patients.
- Develop, implement, and assess patient care plans.
- Monitor and document patient conditions accurately.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Collaborate with physicians and nursing staff to fulfill care orders.
- Prepare patients and families for discharge through education and support.

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
- Valid state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
- One year of acute care RN experience, including military experience if applicable.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required within one year of employment.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- A strong passion for cardiac care.
- Completion of a clinical rotation in a cardiac ICU.
- Extensive experience in cardiac and ICU settings.

Physical Requirements:

This role demands a full range of motion, including lifting and handling patients, as well as manual dexterity. Candidates should be prepared for extended periods of standing and walking, and must have corrected vision and hearing within normal ranges. The position may involve exposure to communicable diseases and requires adherence to safety protocols using personal protective equipment.
