Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Medical Scribe to join our team at Unicare Community Health Center. As a Medical Scribe, you will play a critical role in supporting our physicians by gathering information for patient visits and documenting clinical data.

Key Responsibilities
  • Accurately and thoroughly document clinical visits and procedures performed by the provider, including patient clinical history and physical exam, procedures and treatments, patient education, and provider-dictated diagnoses and instructions.
  • Transcribe reports from medical personnel and translate abbreviations into proper terminology.
  • Review reports for completeness and correct errors in transcription, grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
  • Document medical diagnosis and treatment to the electronic health record (EHR) and assist the provider in navigating the EHR.
  • Locate information for review, including encounters, test results, and outside records.
  • Champion quality initiatives and implement key components into documentation.
  • Troubleshoot basic IT needs and notify the provider of any pending items or system alerts.
Requirements
  • At least one year of experience in an ambulatory care setting as a Medical Assistant and knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Previous experience in medical transcription or other related fields.
  • Familiarity with transcription devices and medical terminology.
  • Strong attention to detail and knowledge of EMR clinical and PM.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is required.
Working Conditions

The ideal candidate will be skilled in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Access, data entry, and use of business email. Physical examination will indicate that the employee is able to meet the physical requirements of the job, including lifting, walking, stooping, bending, and twisting.
