The ideal candidate will demonstrate independent thinking and a collaborative spirit, showcasing the ability to be a strategic partner to our internal clients. You should be adept at providing legal counsel to company executives in a manner that aligns with business objectives.

This role will report directly to the General Counsel.

As the Senior Counsel for Global Supply Chain, your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading initiatives to transform the supply chain function, identifying and implementing strategies for enhanced efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Collaborating with Finance and Supply Chain teams to formulate a comprehensive global legal strategy, including the development of standard terms, Master Service Agreements (MSAs), and Statements of Work (SOWs) with our vendor partners.
  • Staying informed on the latest trends and regulatory changes within the supply chain and logistics sectors to bolster our strategic positioning through the application of legal frameworks.
  • Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and judicial decisions impacting supply chain management, including international trade laws, ESG standards, product safety regulations, data privacy laws, and anti-corruption statutes, to provide proactive legal guidance.
  • Assessing risks and implications related to commercial agreements and offering legal support to various departments as needed.
  • Establishing and promoting consistent global legal best practices across the organization.
  • Overseeing the governance and administration of document management processes related to software and service suppliers.
  • Implementing a structured contract expiration notification system to manage timelines and responsibilities effectively.
  • Conducting legal reviews and negotiations for contracts pertaining to the procurement of goods and services, ensuring alignment with business objectives and compliance requirements.
  • Negotiating long-term agreements with key suppliers to secure optimal value for the organization.
  • Ensuring adherence to proper signing authorities and governance protocols for Supply Chain contracts.
  • Demonstrating a strong understanding of the organization's core values and integrating them into daily responsibilities.
  • Reviewing and updating policies, procedures, and training materials as necessary.
  • Creating training resources and delivering legal training on pertinent legal topics.
  • Proactively negotiating and reviewing critical enterprise-level contracts.

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctorate from an ABA-accredited law school with a minimum of five (5) years of experience, preferably in an in-house legal environment.
  • Proven experience in reviewing and negotiating complex strategic sourcing contracts.
  • Strong background in developing negotiation strategies.
  • Excellent business acumen and the ability to motivate remote teams.
  • Proficient in working within a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
  • Experience in navigating a matrixed organizational structure.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Decisive with strong negotiation capabilities.
  • International experience is a plus.
