Supply Chain Planning Manager

Position Overview:
The Planning Department Lead at DSJ Global will take charge of the planning team, focusing on the development and execution of processes and production strategies that meet customer needs, delivery schedules, inventory goals, and operational efficiency benchmarks. This role involves both team leadership and the strategic foresight necessary to support production and demand initiatives.
Core Responsibilities:
- Production Strategy: Direct the formulation and implementation of both immediate and long-range production strategies to guarantee timely availability of materials in accordance with set timelines.
- Master Schedule Oversight: Create and assess a comprehensive monthly Master Schedule to meet customer demands while minimizing overlaps and testing whenever possible.
- ERP/MRP Enhancement: Enhance SAP/MRP settings to effectively back current planning methodologies.
- Inventory Management: Lead inventory management efforts by crafting and overseeing material and production plans aimed at reducing inventory levels. Conduct monthly, quarterly, and annual inventory analyses, implementing measures to achieve targets across all inventory categories.
- Client Relationship Management: Establish and nurture robust partnerships with both internal and external stakeholders to foster ongoing improvements in the Global Planning process across all regions.
- Forecasting and Production Alignment: Collaborate with Account Managers, Product Managers, and Customer Service Representatives to evaluate forecasts and usage details, taking necessary actions to harmonize production plans.
- Capacity Assessment: Guide Operations in assessing current and future capacity needs.
- Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP): Supervise the preparation and presentation of Sales & Operations Planning activities.
- Department Leadership: Lead and manage the Planning department, including setting objectives, facilitating professional growth, and conducting performance evaluations.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Operations Management, Business, or a related discipline.
- Experience: 8-10 years of experience in a fast-paced manufacturing setting, with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership capacity.
- Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with ERP systems, MRP, and inventory management. Advanced capabilities in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint, for data analysis and reporting.
- Analytical Expertise: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a meticulous attention to detail.
- Communication Skills: Exceptional interpersonal and communication abilities for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Forecasting and Planning Experience: Background in demand forecasting and capacity planning.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certifications: APICS certification.
- Systems Knowledge: Experience with SAP.
- Project Management Skills: Proven project management capabilities and familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies.
- Strategic Planning Experience: Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic plans.
- Lean Manufacturing Knowledge: Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles and practices.
