Position Overview:
As a Senior Tax Strategist, you will play a pivotal role within the Tax Forecasting team at NextEra Energy, Inc. Your expertise will be essential in managing the intricacies of tax forecasting and its implications on net income and cash tax flow.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Oversee critical components of the tax forecasting cycle and its impact on financial performance.
2. Develop, analyze, and validate financial models to assess tax implications of various transactions.
3. Collaborate on cross-functional initiatives aimed at maximizing income tax advantages.
4. Engage in strategic tax projects to enhance and streamline processes related to tax provision calculations.

Specific Duties Include:
- Manage deliverables for monthly and quarterly tax reporting cycles.
- Create and evaluate financial models that support business development efforts.
- Work closely with Tax Operations to identify and clarify variances from actual financial results.
- Partner with planning teams to ensure accurate modeling of M&A and restructuring transactions.
- Collaborate with Finance and Business Development teams to improve tax analytics and benefits in project assessments.
- Lead cross-functional projects to enhance tax benefits across the business portfolio.
- Drive the design and implementation of tax technology solutions to automate processes and mitigate risks associated with forecasting.

Preferred Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Strong analytical and commercial acumen with the ability to identify issues and propose solutions independently.
- Proven experience in preparing and reviewing executive communications regarding financial impacts.
- Capability to analyze data and macroeconomic trends to inform business decisions.
- Proficiency in analytical tools and software, including SAP, Business Warehouse, Advanced Excel, and similar platforms.
- A track record of leading projects that enhance quality, efficiency, and transparency.
- A proactive approach to seeking new challenges and responsibilities.

Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree required; 4+ years of relevant experience.
- Preferred: Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation and a Master's degree in Accounting or Finance.
