Mammography Technologist Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Mammography Technologist to join our team at New York Imaging Service. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our organization.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine and diagnostic mammography procedures to assist physicians in the diagnosis of disease and injuries.
  • Assist with stereotactic biopsies and track inventory and order supplies.
  • Exhibit a high degree of tact, courtesy, and poise, explaining procedures to patients to reduce anxieties and obtain patient cooperation.
  • Prepare and position patients for diagnostic imaging procedures and adjust equipment controls to set exposure factors and produce images of proper detail, density, and accuracy.
  • Process images and reviews for proper identification and quality control, and practice radiation protection techniques to minimize radiation to patients and staff.
  • Orient and train new hires and perform other related duties as necessary.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of one-year continuous experience in Mammography.
  • Licensed from American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Excellent assessment, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Good computer knowledge.
  • Availability to work daytime weekday hours.
  • Bilingual, English/Spanish a plus.
