Houston, Texas, United States Baylor College of Medicine Full time
Position Overview

The Human Genome Sequencing Center (HGSC) at Baylor College of Medicine, established in 1996, is recognized globally for its pioneering work in genomics. The center's core mission is to facilitate actionable translational research that spans the entire spectrum of human health and disease. By leveraging extensive genomic data, the HGSC aims to enhance collaborative analytics, discover gene-phenotype relationships, and drive clinical advancements.

In alignment with the National Institutes of Health Common Fund initiative known as the Somatic Mosaicism across Human Tissues (SMaHT) Network, the HGSC is set to create a Genome Characterization Center (GCC). This center will employ cutting-edge methodologies and innovate new techniques to catalog the prevalence of somatic mosaicism across various cell types, tissues, and developmental stages, ultimately aiming to elucidate its impact on human biology and disease.
