Electrical Systems Design Lead

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Systems Design Lead to join our team at Electrical Consultants, Inc. (ECI). As a leading power engineering consultant firm, we provide engineering, system planning, and studies to electric utilities, energy developers, and industrials throughout the U.S.

The successful candidate will be responsible for configuring and producing engineering drawings for installation and commissioning of electro-mechanical and microprocessor type protection relay systems in high voltage substations. This includes designing the installation of RTUs, DDFRs, PMUs, ethernet switches, and HMI systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and configure high voltage substation projects, including one-line, three-line, schematics, panel elevations, and wiring diagrams
  • Collaborate with design teams on conceptual, preliminary, and final design of station projects
  • Manage a team of engineers and designers to ensure timely and accurate delivery of projects
  • Develop and maintain technical expertise in power system protection and control

Requirements:

  • BSEE degree and 6+ years of experience in specifying, configuring, and producing engineering drawings for high voltage substations
  • Extensive background in power system protection and control required
  • PE license preferred but not required
  • Experience with Southern California Edison (SCE) standards a plus
