Position Summary:
The Finance team at DreamWorks Animation is seeking a Finance Manager to join our studio. This role is crucial for strategic and financial planning, reporting, and analysis within the DreamWorks Animation division of NBCUniversal. The Finance Manager will report to the Director of Operational Finance and will collaborate closely with various departments within the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

What will you be doing?

  • Oversee financial planning, forecasting, and reporting for studio-wide overhead and capital expenditures. Collaborate with department leaders to prepare overhead budgets and headcount projections for the entire studio, providing updates throughout the fiscal year.
  • Work in conjunction with Production Accounting and Technology Finance on monthly forecasting submissions.
  • Analyze and present variances between actual results and forecast estimates, identifying issues and business trends for management review.
  • Enhance and manage the overhead and production planning tools, focusing on standardizing and automating reporting processes while improving the utilization of internal systems.
  • Assist with high-visibility reporting processes for DWA Development and Production, including the consolidation of monthly financial results, forecasting, and budget-to-actual variance analysis.
  • Coordinate with Finance and Controllership to support quarterly closing activities.
  • Engage in ad hoc strategic analyses to help management understand the implications of various business trends and decisions, providing actionable recommendations for improvement.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in Finance or Accounting, with a focus on management reporting and budgeting/forecasting.
  • Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint, with a demonstrated ability to learn new systems.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Detail-oriented with robust analytical and organizational skills.
  • Adept at grasping new concepts and solving problems.
  • A collaborative team player with a positive attitude and eagerness to learn.
  • Proactive with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities under tight deadlines.
  • This position is designated as hybrid, requiring in-office contributions a minimum of three days per week.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience in financial modeling.
  • Familiarity with reporting and analytical tools (SAP BPC preferred).
  • Experience working with large datasets, extracting and interpreting key financial insights, and providing data-driven business recommendations.
  • Advanced skills in PowerPoint and Google Sheets.
  • Experience in the entertainment or animation industry.
