We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Program Engineer at SL America Corporation.
The successful candidate will be responsible for communicating with customers and internal teams in a cooperative manner, observing assigned program status, profitability, improvement, and customer satisfaction. They will also advance sales strategy development and coordination with all levels of customers working in advance development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the primary sales contact for assigned programs and customers
- Collaborate with related Engineering Managers for programs
- Understand SL Strategy, Product, Technology, Process, Cost Structure, and Market and Customer value chain
- Research and analyze markets to set strategies, identify new business opportunities, and propose strategy
- Review and understand cost structures to develop and manage profits
- Develop Value-Added/Value-Engineering (VA/VE) ideas to improve profitability through close working with customers and cross-functional teams
- Prepare and manage sales documents (Quote Programs, Profit Reports, Marketing Reports/Analysis, etc.)
- Gather market trend information and customer intelligence and propose strategies to SL
- Coordinate assigned program issues among customers and SL cross-functional teams globally
- Negotiate pricing with customer team members (Purchasing, Costing, and Engineering)
- Manage and review Purchase Orders to deploy within SL Organization and validate with customers
- Develop and apply new sales strategies for SL by developing, managing, and implementing advanced sales within customers to manage technical developments and propose new developments
- Coach other team members to support their account activities
- Domestic and international travel required as needed
Requirements:
- Minimum of 6-9 years of experience in a related field in the automotive industry
- Minimum of 5 years' experience as an Account Manager in the product-related field
- Matrix organization experience as a team member a plus
- Multicultural and/or Global Organization
- Previously supervised and managed small teams for specific projects
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Marketing, Business, or related
- MBA a plus
Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Fluent in MS Office products
- Strong presentation skills
- Ability to develop personal relationships with customers
- Understanding of APQP
- Understanding of market price and cost structure
- Knowledge of SL Manufacturing Products a plus
- Cost Management, Marketing experience a plus
- Bilingual Korean/English language a plus
