Accounting Technician III

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Accounting Technician III to join our team at California State University. As a key member of the Controller's Office, you will be responsible for preparing, verifying, and processing complex journal entries, reconciling daily cash deposits, and maintaining financial records.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and verify complex journal entries with high accuracy and attention to detail
- Reconcile daily cash deposits and maintain financial records
- Maintain the department budget table and chart of accounts
- Prepare various reconciliation reports, including bank reconciliations and financial statements
- Perform data entry and verification, filing, and organizing file systems
- Coordinate and process various forms and follow up on outstanding items
- Participate in month and year-end closing processes and implement financial accounting software upgrades
- Equivalent to four years of progressively responsible financial record-keeping experience
- Comprehensive knowledge of financial record-keeping, mathematical, and general office methods, procedures, and practices
- Ability to interpret and apply written rules and regulations, maintain accounting records, and reconcile financial data
- Excellent customer service skills, oral and written communication skills, and ability to work in a multicultural/multiethnic environment
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, Business Administration, Finance, Public Administration, or a closely related field
- PeopleSoft Financials experience
