Job Title: Cardiac Electrodiagnostic Technician III

Job Summary:

The County of Los Angeles, CA is seeking a highly skilled Cardiac Electrodiagnostic Technician III to join our team. As a Cardiac Electrodiagnostic Technician III, you will be responsible for conducting a full range of non-invasive electrodiagnostic examinations of patients to obtain graphic indications of heart activity and condition. You will scan and analyze tracings and prepare interpretative reports for requesting physicians.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct echocardiograph examinations following physicians' requests and instructions.
  • Monitor film images and detect abnormal patterns, determine probable causes of abnormalities, and prepare an interpretive report for the requesting physician.
  • Conduct dynamic electrodiagnostic examinations and scan tapes on oscilloscopes, correlate patient activity with tracing patterns, and note any abnormality.
  • Prepare protocol and instructional material on new equipment and techniques based upon manufacturer's manual and specifications for approval of superiors and instruct other technicians in the performance of the more difficult procedures.
  • Inspect malfunctioning electrodiagnostic equipment to identify problems and make minor adjustments in accordance with manufacture instructions to restore to use or notify supervisor of needed repairs.

Requirements:

  • One (1) year's experience at the level of Cardiac Electrodiagnostic Technician II, including six (6) months' on-the-job training in the performance of echocardiographic examinations and the preparation of electrodiagnostic interpretive reports.
  • Physical Class II - Light: This class requires light physical effort that may include occasional light lifting to a 10-pound limit and some bending, stooping, or squatting. Considerable ambulation may be involved.

  • Additional years of experience at the level of Cardiac Electrodiagnostic Technician II.

Working Conditions:

Appointees may be required to work any shift, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
