Job Title: Yard Jockey Driver

We are seeking a skilled Yard Jockey Driver to join our team at E. Armata Inc. As a Yard Jockey Driver, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating a tractor and trailer to move equipment and trailers around the yard.

Responsibilities:
  • Check in with your supervisor at the start of each shift to receive your assigned schedule and review any important information.
  • Monitor and track truck temperature and fuel logs to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections of the yard, horse, and trailer to ensure compliance with DOT regulations.
  • Maintain open communication with your supervisor and other team members through radio communication.
  • Inspect all trucks parked in the bay to ensure they are securely chocked and ready for departure.
  • Move trailers safely and accurately as requested by your manager.
  • Monitor trailer temperature periodically during your shift and report any discrepancies to your supervisor.
  • Communicate with your supervisor and other team members to report any issues or hazards in the yard.
  • Ensure all reefers are in the correct mode when backed into a loading bay.
  • Perform general housekeeping duties in the work area as needed.
  • Attach empty trailers to the Yard Tractor and transport them to the designated loading dock door.
  • Secure all equipment and complete any necessary paperwork at the end of each shift.
Requirements:
  • CDL Class A License
  • Valid DOT Medical Card
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience working as a Yard Jockey or Switcher
  • Experience operating a yard horse (preferred but not required)
  • Three (3) years of DMV/MVR record with two or fewer moving violations/accidents
  • Ability to operate a 10-speed tractor and stick shift/double clutch Mack truck
  • Availability to work overtime hours, weekends, and holidays
Benefits:

We offer a competitive salary of $24.15 per hour, plus time and a half after 8 hours of work daily. Our benefits package includes medical, dental, vision, paid vacation, sick leave, and holidays.
