Role SummaryWe are looking for a Safety & Support Leader to oversee the safety protocols at a local middle school.
In this position, you will be responsible for ensuring a secure environment for students during various programs. Your primary duties will include monitoring designated areas to maintain safety and engagement among youth participants. You will collaborate closely with the Community Health Programs Manager to support behavior management and conflict resolution efforts.
Essential Qualifications- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Dedicated to delivering high-quality youth development experiences
- Experience with diverse elementary and middle school populations
- Passionate about social equity and knowledgeable about community dynamics
- Proficient in restorative practices and conflict de-escalation techniques
- Strong grasp of youth development principles
- Experience in teaching specific subjects
- Able to connect with middle school students and foster meaningful relationships
- Team-oriented with the ability to collaborate across diverse backgrounds
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Must obtain CPR, First Aid, AED certifications, and YMCA Child Abuse Prevention training within the first month of employment
- Clearance through a fingerprint background check
- TB test clearance required
- At least 23 years of age
- Bilingual abilities in Spanish, Cantonese, or Tagalog are advantageous
- Minimum of three years' experience working with diverse youth populations
- Possession of Security Guard Registration or Restraint Training Certification is a plus
