Job Overview

The Safer Foundation is dedicated to providing essential social services to individuals with arrest and conviction histories. Our comprehensive approach includes case management, educational programs, and advocacy, all aimed at equipping individuals for successful employment in the community.

Work Environment:
Annual Salary: Minimum $36K (overtime eligible)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the operations of the security team during assigned shifts at the Adult Transition Centers.
  • Ensure the safety and security of residents, staff, and visitors by supervising the activities of security personnel.
  • Monitor compliance with facility rules and regulations by residents.
  • Review and approve time-off requests for security staff and assist in the recruitment process.
  • Maintain high standards of security, sanitation, and safety; conduct resident counts, searches for contraband, and manage medication distribution.
  • Facilitate the orientation process for new residents, ensuring they understand facility protocols.
  • Coordinate transportation for residents to work, medical appointments, and recreational activities while keeping accurate records.
  • Analyze reports from security staff, including resident counts and medication logs, and document any unusual activities.
  • Provide training on emergency procedures to residents and staff, and report any emergencies to the supervisor promptly.
  • Guide residents on personal development topics, including grooming and compliance with parole requirements.
  • Accountable for the performance of security staff and ensure adherence to operational standards.
  • Report any incidents involving substance use or major disturbances to the supervisor immediately, ensuring proper documentation is completed.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in corrections, security, or a related field.
  • At least 1 year of supervisory experience is required.
  • Ability to make sound decisions under pressure.

Education:

  • A.A. degree in Human Services or a related field is required.
  • A Bachelor's degree is preferred but not mandatory; relevant experience may substitute for formal education.

Certifications:

  • No specific licenses or certifications are required.
