Job Title: Transportation Manager

McLane is a leading supply chain services company in the United States, with over 125 years of experience delivering retail and restaurant solutions to convenience stores, mass merchants, drug stores, and chain restaurants.

We are seeking a highly skilled Transportation Manager to establish and maintain the smooth operation of the Transportation department at one of our distribution centers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan, direct, and coordinate all delivery and backhaul activities to drive key performance indicators for cost savings.
  • Maintain a properly staffed and trained department that offers the highest levels of logistics support to the warehouse.
  • Efficiently utilize manpower via proper scheduling and training to provide the highest levels of customer service at the store level.
  • Manage large numbers of driving staff, including hiring, training, and motivating teammates and resolving employee relations issues.
  • Utilize transportation management systems (TMS) such as Trimble/PeopleNet to optimize logistics operations.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business or a related field.
  • ~5+ years experience with all facets of outbound transportation, including distribution systems, routing, and backhaul/transfer procedures.
  • ~4+ years of accounting, planning, analytical, and/or reporting experience, with the ability to identify financial issues and provide cost-effective solutions.
  • Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, Access).
