Public Health Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our team at the Georgia Department of Public Health. As a Registered Nurse, you will play a critical role in providing professional nursing and clinical care services to clients with HIV/AIDS.
Job Summary:The ideal candidate will have knowledge and experience working with culturally diverse and/or vulnerable populations, including sexual minorities and persons who have mental health or substance misuse disorders. You will work on a multidisciplinary team to coordinate and provide assessment, planning, implementation, and related clinical services in a primary care outpatient setting.
Responsibilities:- Provide direct nursing care, including physical assessments, education, treatment, and develop and document a plan of care consistent with the clients' level of need.
- Screen and refer clients to other community services providers as needed.
- Assist with referrals and follow-up treatment planning as indicated.
- Provide sexual health promotion and prevention education, including counseling clients and family regarding the importance of medication adherence for viral suppression.
- Participate in staff meetings and assist with developing and implementing quality improvement projects as needed.
- Maintain accurate medical records, assist with data entry and quality assurance monitoring such as internal chart audits and grant reporting.
To be considered for this role, you must have an Associate degree in nursing from an accredited college or university and one (1) year of nursing experience and completion of a PHN course within one year of hire and current Georgia Registered Professional Nurse license and CPR certification. A Bachelors degree in nursing from an accredited college or university and one (1) years of nursing experience and completion of a PHN course within one year of hire and current Georgia Registered Professional Nurse License and CPR certification are also acceptable.
