Graduate Assistant for Recruitment and Retention
Overview:
The Graduate Assistant for Recruitment and Retention will be instrumental in aiding the College of Health and Human Services in fulfilling its enrollment and retention objectives. This role involves the development and execution of recruitment initiatives, fostering student involvement, and delivering support services to enrolled students.
Key Responsibilities:
Recruitment Initiatives: Assist in formulating and implementing recruitment strategies for both undergraduate and graduate programs within the College. Represent the college at various recruitment functions. Build and sustain partnerships with high schools, community colleges, and other relevant organizations. Create and disseminate recruitment materials, including brochures, flyers, and digital content. Monitor and evaluate recruitment metrics to determine the success of recruitment activities. Retention Strategies: Design and execute strategies aimed at improving student success and retention rates. Provide academic and personal guidance to current students through advising and mentoring. Organize student engagement initiatives, such as workshops, social gatherings, and academic support programs. Track student performance and identify those at risk for early intervention. Collect and analyze retention data to inform program enhancements. Financial Aid Research: Conduct thorough research on scholarships, grants, and financial aid options available to students pursuing health-related fields, including both internal and external resources. Maintain a comprehensive and organized database of financial aid opportunities, ensuring information is current, accessible, and categorized by eligibility, deadlines, and funding amounts. Collaborate with the advising team and marketing specialists to keep students informed about new financial aid opportunities, creating materials or presentations as necessary to assist students in the application process.Required Qualifications:
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively.
• Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and relevant software applications.
• Experience in student recruitment and retention is preferred.
• Enrollment in a graduate program is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
• This is a full-time Graduate Assistant position with a stipend and tuition waiver.
• Flexible hours are available, though some evening and weekend work may be necessary.
