Overview:
The Graduate Assistant for Recruitment and Retention will be instrumental in aiding the College of Health and Human Services in meeting its enrollment and retention objectives. This role encompasses the development and execution of recruitment initiatives, fostering student involvement, and delivering support services to current students.
Key Responsibilities:
Recruitment Initiatives: Assist in formulating and implementing recruitment strategies for both undergraduate and graduate programs. Represent the college at various recruitment functions. Build and sustain relationships with secondary schools, community colleges, and other educational partners. Create and disseminate recruitment materials, including brochures, flyers, and digital content. Monitor and evaluate recruitment data to measure the success of recruitment activities. Student Retention Strategies: Design and execute strategies aimed at improving student success and retention rates. Provide academic and personal guidance to current students through mentoring and advising. Organize student engagement initiatives, such as workshops, social gatherings, and academic support programs. Track student performance and identify those at risk for early intervention. Collect and analyze retention metrics to guide program enhancements. Financial Aid Research: Conduct thorough research on scholarships, grants, and financial aid options available for students pursuing health-related disciplines. Establish and maintain a comprehensive and organized database of financial aid opportunities, ensuring the information is current and categorized by relevant criteria. Collaborate with the advising team and marketing specialists to keep students informed about new financial aid opportunities, creating necessary materials or presentations to assist in the application process.Required Qualifications:
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively.
• Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and related software.
• Experience in student recruitment and retention is preferred.
• Enrollment in a graduate program is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
• This is a full-time Graduate Assistant position with a stipend and tuition waiver.
• Flexible hours are available, though some evening and weekend work may be necessary.
