Head Start Associate Site Supervisor

We are currently seeking a full-time Head Start Associate Site Supervisor for a partial year (10 months/year) role at our Head Start program. This position includes a comprehensive benefits package, which encompasses vacation, personal and sick leave accrual, holidays, health and life insurance, as well as an employer-sponsored cafeteria plan.

The Associate Site Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the center, ensuring compliance with relevant performance standards and guidelines, and supervising all staff assigned to the site.

Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field (with a minimum of 21 credit hours in Early Childhood) and have prior supervisory experience. Experience in a Head Start or early childhood environment is preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Organize and schedule staff to maintain classroom ratios and site coverage in accordance with regulations. Assign substitutes for absent employees or fulfill roles as necessary.
  • Ensure continuous supervision of children at all times.
  • Coordinate staff activities and responsibilities, including orientation, supervision, and performance evaluations, while implementing Progressive Discipline as per policy.
  • Review and authorize all time and travel sheets, as well as leave of absence requests.
  • Guarantee that all necessary documentation and reports are accurately completed and submitted promptly to the Administrative Office.
  • Facilitate the interview and hiring process for vacancies at the site.
  • Support educational staff in classrooms as required.
  • Maintain DCFS files for all employees assigned to the site.
  • Monitor inventory of materials, supplies, and equipment; complete purchase requisitions as needed.
  • Conduct monthly staff meetings and involve staff in relevant decision-making processes.
  • Participate in monthly Site Supervisor and Management Team Meetings.
  • Collaborate with Parent Coordinators to organize Parent Group activities and recruitment efforts.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to fulfill the requirements of the Head Start program.
