This is a grant-funded position at Texas State University, reporting to the Director of Talent Search Del Valle. The Grant Specialist will assist in program recruitment and service delivery for program participants in the 6th to 12th grades at target schools.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with program recruitment and outreach efforts.
- Develop and maintain professional relationships with target area communities and schools.
- Provide college admission and financial aid process information to program participants.
- Support recently graduated seniors as they transition to postsecondary education.
- Assist with the documentation of services provided, tracking, and reporting.
- Monitor outcome objectives, collect data, and assist in preparing annual performance reports.
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field.
- Experience with academic support programs, including academic advising and college exploration/application processes.
- Effective writing and speaking skills.
- Experience with computer software (Microsoft suite) and database management platforms.
- 1 year of experience with academic advising, college, and career preparation, and the college exploration/application process.
- Experience developing programs, events, trips, and workshops for students.
- Bilingual (Spanish) speaking/writing.
