We are in search of a talented and seasoned Investigative Reporter to bolster our outstanding team.

Position Overview

As an Investigative Reporter at Fort Myers Broadcasting Co, you will play a crucial role in uncovering significant stories that resonate with our audience.

The ideal candidate should possess a deep passion for investigative journalism, a proven record of thorough research, and the capability to present stories that hold influential figures accountable.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct in-depth research and investigations to reveal original stories.
  • Carefully assess and verify information.
  • Conduct interviews to collect detailed and reliable data.
  • Produce journalistically sound news reports.
  • Develop stories as new information emerges over various timelines.
  • Collaborate closely with the Assistant News Director, Digital News Director, and Executive Producer of Special Projects.
  • Utilize digital resources, social media platforms, and content management systems to enhance storytelling and engage the audience.
Qualifications:
  • Holds a Bachelor's degree in Journalism or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a TV news reporter, with a solid understanding of journalistic principles and ethics.
  • Previous experience as an investigative reporter is preferred.
  • Strong live reporting and on-set capabilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in research and investigation, with a keen attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines while maintaining high quality.
  • Familiarity with digital tools and social media platforms.
