Position Title: Financial Support Coordinator
Qualifications/Education: Preferred Associate's degree in Accounting or Financial Management; Minimum requirement is a High School Diploma; Medicaid Billing Certification is also preferred.
Experience Required:
- Familiarity with Therap and Fee-for-Service Billing and Record Management.
- 2-5 years of experience in Medical Billing, Collections, or Accounting within a corporate setting.
Essential Requirements: Employment is subject to successful completion of state-mandated criminal background checks, central registry checks, child abuse registry checks, and drug screening.
Role Summary: This role reports directly to the Billing Director. The Financial Support Coordinator is responsible for managing the billing of payer claims (primary, secondary, and tertiary) in accordance with contractual obligations, including Medicaid regulations.

Responsibilities Include:
- Overseeing the billing processes for all payer claims.
- Generating daily billing reports to assess account needs and updating files accordingly.
Main Duties:
- Maintain comprehensive files for all participants in the Financial Support Program.
- Ensure all necessary Social Security Authorizations are current.
- Manage individual debit cards effectively.
- Coordinate and conduct all necessary appointments with the Social Security Administration.
- Complete all required SSA documentation accurately.
- Monthly reconciliation of individual debit cards.
- Ensure ongoing Medicaid eligibility for individuals.
- Collaborate effectively with agency personnel.
- Process bill payments for participants in the program.
- Report to the Social Security Administration as required.
- Submit timely claims to both commercial and non-commercial payers.
- Maintain precise records of all billing activities.
- Provide accurate and timely reports as necessary.
- Review and confirm that all required billing documentation is obtained.
- Stay informed about Medicaid guidelines and apply this knowledge to billing practices as per individual contracts.
- Understand billing processes for Medicaid, Medicare, and Insurance, including coordination of benefits.
- Monitor electronic claims submissions to prevent delays in processing.
- Identify and rectify rejected electronic and paper claims.
- Ensure accuracy of reference materials and implement new billing codes and fee schedules.
- Verify data entry for accuracy.
- Review unbilled revenue reports to confirm pending claims and resolve them.
- Reconcile open accounts to clarify patient responsibilities.
- Perform additional finance or accounting tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
- Maintain attention to detail while managing multiple projects.
- Adhere to agency philosophy and policies while supporting organizational objectives.
- Work collaboratively with the Director of Finance to prevent and address misconduct.
- Assist service recipients in daily living activities under the guidance of New Horizons in Autism, Inc.
- Perform other job-related duties as necessary.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding all organizational business dealings.
- Consistently act in a professional manner and promote a positive work environment.
- Represent the organization positively at all times.
