Medical Laboratory Technician 2

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Technician 2 to join our team at Inova Fair Oaks Hospital. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality of specimens for laboratory testing and providing accurate data for patients, quality control, and proficiency testing.
Key Responsibilities- Float to other areas to maintain productivity and proficiency.
- Follow site-specific standard operating procedures, manuals, and instructions; adhere to laboratory safety procedures and processes at all times.
- Participate in constructive feedback and give positive reinforcement to coworkers.
- Report clinical data accurately and efficiently so that caregivers receive timely patient information.
- Notify appropriate individuals, including technical support, of problems or discrepancies according to established procedures.
- Minimize department expenses by using resources efficiently while avoiding urgent supply requests and inventory loss due to expiration.
- Associate Degree in science from a college/university recognized by regional or national accreditation agency. Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology preferred.
- Successful completion of a NAACLS accredited MLS program, NAACLS or ABHES accredited MLT program, or a foreign medical laboratory science clinical training program within the 12 months can be used in lieu of one year of full-time acceptable clinical experience.
- MLT(ASCP) or MLT (AMT) certification.
