Norwalk Hospital Association seeks a skilled Registered Nurse to join our Emergency Department team. As a critical care nurse, you will provide direct and indirect nursing care to patients, assessing their needs and developing individualized care plans.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough admission assessments to identify patient needs and develop care plans.
- Administer medications safely and effectively, communicating with patients and families about their treatment.
- Identify high-risk patients and take steps to mitigate potential safety risks.
- Assess learning needs of patients and families, providing education and support as needed.
- Coordinate and supervise the delivery of nursing care, delegating tasks as necessary.
- Monitor patient skin condition and report any changes to the healthcare team.
- Adhere to nursing standards of practice, including assessment, care planning, interventions, and evaluation.
Requirements:
- RN license to practice in the State of Connecticut.
- BLS, ACLS, PALS/ENPC, TNCC, trauma hours, and non-violent crisis intervention certifications.
- Zero to six months of experience in a similar role.
Work Environment:
- Significant manual skills and motor coordination required.
- Exposure to dirt, odor, noise, and human waste.
