Licensed Practical Nurse LPN

RI International is a global leader in mental health and substance use crisis service design delivery, as well as peer-delivered care. We are seeking a highly skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team as a Mental Health Crisis Support Specialist.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with the intake process, ensuring a smooth transition for individuals in crisis.
- Collect and transport blood or urine specimens to the lab as ordered, maintaining accurate records.
- Monitor the care of individuals, including medication management under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
- Oversee and maintain medication records in accordance with policy and state regulations.
- Provide support to Medical Assistants and other staff as needed, including treatment and discharge planning.
- Offer education on diabetic care, psychiatric medication, and other medical needs to enhance individual health and wellbeing.
- Coordinate care, including assisting individuals with making medical and/or other provider appointments as needed.
- Complete clinical documentation as required, adhering to RI International's compliance standards.
- A thorough comprehension of psychiatric nursing is preferred.
- Knowledge of psychiatric medications, their indications, common side effects, reactions, and interactions is essential.
- Ability to work with agitated patients in crisis and their families to implement behavioral management interventions.
- Basic computer skills and attention to detail are necessary.
- Effective communication and listening skills are crucial for success in this role.
- Graduation from an accredited LPN program and a current, valid LPN license are required.
- Minimum of one year of experience working in a behavioral health setting is preferred.
