Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Sales and Service Advisor to join our team at Service Corporation International. As a Sales and Service Advisor, you will play a vital role in serving client families by making need cemetery arrangements and selling pre-need arrangements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead Generation
    • Prospect for new business opportunities, utilizing effective communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with potential clients.
    • Obtain referrals from satisfied families and network with community and civic leaders to expand our reach.
    • Develop and present presentations to families, highlighting the benefits of pre-planning and our services.
    • Track and maintain activity levels to ensure productivity and meet sales targets.
  • Build Relationships with Families
    • Respond to client inquiries in a timely, respectful, and professional manner, demonstrating empathy and understanding of each family's unique needs.
    • Connect with families through active listening, honest communication, and genuine concern, building trust and establishing a strong rapport.
    • Develop a deep understanding of each family's needs and offer solutions that provide value and meet their expectations.
    • Stay in touch with families to ensure satisfaction and address any concerns or issues that may arise.
    • Prepare for all appointments and perform procedures with professionalism and attention to detail, ensuring a seamless experience for our clients.
    • Follow through on all customer problems and requests, demonstrating a commitment to customer satisfaction.
    • Build trust-based relationships to earn the right to ask for referrals and recommendations.
  • Teamwork
    • Represent a continuous link between services provided at need, aftercare, and future services, ensuring a seamless experience for our clients.
    • Collaborate and team with funeral directors, location managers, and other members of the funeral home and cemetery staff to provide high-quality service.
    • Review previous services and contacts with families to prepare to support current needs and sales efforts.
    • Share family concerns with the rest of the SCI team, ensuring a unified approach to customer service.
    Requirements
    • Education
      • High school diploma or equivalent.
      • 1-2 years of college or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Experience
      • 1-2 years of customer service or sales industry experience preferred.
    • Licenses
      • Current state/province-issued driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
      • Insurance license if required by state/province law and as prescribed by each state board.
    • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
      • Ability to pass the Company's internal presentation certification within thirty days of hire.
      • Ability to work a number of evenings and/or weekends every month.
      • Ability to drive frequently.
      • Ability to obtain and maintain an insurance license if required by state/province.
      • Flexible hours, but at times must have the ability to work up to 12 hours in a day.
      • Ability to treat others with empathy and respect.
      • Knowledge of computers and some software.
      • Customer service skills.
      Compensation and Benefits

Our Sales and Service Advisor role earns monthly commissions, with incumbents averaging $100,000 in total earnings in their third year.
