Job Summary:
We are looking for a skilled and dedicated teacher to fill a long-term substitute position. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality instruction and support to students in a single school, covering teacher absences for ten days or fewer per absence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide instruction and support to students in a single school, covering teacher absences for ten days or fewer per absence.
- Develop and implement lesson plans that meet the needs of diverse learners.
- Assess student progress and adjust instruction accordingly.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills.
Requirements:
- Minimum of an undergraduate college/university degree.
- Current authorization to work in the United States.
- Successfully complete a screening interview with the BPS Office of Human Capital.
- Pass a CORI/SORI criminal background check.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Massachusetts Teaching License in assigned content and grade level, including SEI Endorsement if applicable.
- Experience in a school or community setting working with children or young adults.
- Experience teaching in urban schools.
